Let the Offense Go

Outside plant blowing in the wind with the words "Let the Offense Go"

I let the offense go when someone cuts me off in traffic.

Instead of getting upset, I focus on keeping myself and other drivers safe on the road. That person’s issues has nothing to do with me. And to tell you the truth, most people aren’t thinking that much about us at all.

Perhaps they’re in a hurry to avoid a late fee picking up their child from daycare. Or maybe they’re running late for work due to taking care of a sick loved one at home.

On the other hand, this person could simply be plain mad. But the fact of the matter is that their offense has nothing to do with me. Therefore, I choose a different reaction: I choose to let the offense go and move on peacefully.
